About
I am currently pursuing M.Sc. (Tech) Photonics at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), DRDO. My academic training has given me a strong foundation in optics, photonics, electromagnetic theory, and laser systems, along with regular hands-on laboratory work. At present, I am working on Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA)–based systems, focusing on their design, simulation, and experimental characterization. My work involves studying gain behavior, ASE and noise characteristics, and extending the setup toward Q-switched laser operation using EDFA-based architectures, with emphasis on practical implementation and performance evaluation. Earlier, I completed a summer research internship at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the FLARe Lab, where I worked on Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) systems. This experience helped me develop a strong understanding of experimental photonics, optical alignment, and laboratory-scale measurements. My laboratory exposure includes experiments such as holography, Z-scan, interferometry, OTDR-based fiber characterization, chromatic dispersion measurements, CWDM system analysis, FBG characterization, and BER and eye-diagram evaluation in optical communication links. I am comfortable working with both simulation tools and experimental setups, and I enjoy translating theoretical concepts into working hardware. I am looking for entry-level industry roles in photonics and optoelectronics, particularly those involving experimental work and system-level development, where I can contribute to optical system design, testing, and performance characterization in real-world applications.
