Mandana Massoumi

Mandana is a seasoned litigator who has been recognized by Lawdragon among the top 500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers (nationwide) in 2020 and named as one of the Daily Journal’s "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers" in California. Her employment litigation practice includes defending employers in class actions and other complex employment litigation, including claims brought under the FLSA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, the FMLA, the Equal Pay Act, the Labor Code, including the PAGA, the FEHA, civil rights claims (Unruh Act), and whistle-blower claims. She has extensive experience defending employers in both state and federal courts, against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliations, medical leave, privacy breach claims, and misappropriation of trade secrets, including at trial. Mandana also partners with clients in providing strategic employment advice and counsel, including in design of diversity and inclusion programs and policies, and audits related to issues of civil rights and bias in AI. She works with clients across industry groups including to clients in the e-commece, financial, digital and technology, entertainment and healthcare industries. She provides counsel and training on all workplace issues including ethics and corporate compliance, anti-corruptions/ anti-bribery claims, misappropriation of trade secrets, privacy, intellectual property ownership rights, wage and hour, Cal-OSHA (including COVID-19 related), NLRA, and employee data protection (CCPA). Mandana regularly authors publications and speaks at national conferences. Mandana also serves as the co-chair of the firm's Retail & Consumer Good Practice Group, where she works with a team of attorneys across practice and industry groups in collaboration to meet client business and ecommerce needs. She is also a leader in diversity initiatives, including the Women’s Initiative, attorneys of color, and on the Associate Review Committee.

Mandana served as a partner in Dorsey's Labor and Employment Department, with a practice that focused on complex and class action employment litigation in addition to advice and counsel work on all aspects of employment law. She also served in various leadership roles, including as one of the firm’s Diversity leaders. Her extensive litigation practice encompassed all aspects of workplace law, including work on defending employers in class actions and other complex employment litigation. I also successfully defended employers through trial or summary judgment on other employment related claims including those raised under the FLSA, labor Code, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, the FEHA, the PAGA, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, the NLRA, among others. This included at trial and before state and federal government agencies, including claims of discrimination/harassment, retaliations, leave, civil rights, and misappropriation of trade secrets. I also provided counsel, designed policies and training on all aspects of workplace law.
