I am currently contributing as a Research Associate at Michigan State University, USA, where I am engaged in research on Intramembrane metalloprotease involved in Bacillus subtilis endosporulation. My academic journey, which led me to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India, has been a testament to my commitment to scientific discovery. My research has extensively explored the anticancer properties and bioactivity of Pt(II) and Pd(II) complexes, contributing valuable insights to the field. I worked on four membrane-associated proteins—SpoIVFB, its substrate Pro-σK, and the inhibitory proteins BofA and SpoIVFA—which regulate sporulation in Bacillus subtilis. My research was focused on understanding the molecular interactions among these proteins. To achieve this, I performed extensive in vivo disulfide crosslinking experiments using strategically designed single-cysteine mutants and mapped interactions between different regions of the proteins. These studies provided insights into substrate recognition and the regulatory mechanisms controlling SpoIVFB activity during sporulation.

I worked on a multidisciplinary research project focused on the development of Pt(II) and Pd(II) complexes with enhanced anticancer activity compared to traditional platinum-based drugs. Synthesised serries of Pt(II)/Pd(II) complexes and characterised by NMR, IR, Mass spectroscopy. Studied their interactions with DNA and protein like Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) by various spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, Fluorescence) and Gel electrophoresis. Molecular docking studies with different proteins, DFT study for rection mechanism. Kinetic study with various amino acids and peptides.
