Provide geospatial measurement, statistics, and analysis support in the area of Operations Research. Use ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, and 3D Analyst to measure geographic distributions, identify patterns and clusters of activity, and analyze geographic relationships. Use JMP and MS Excel software to visualize data patterns and trends to include hotspot identification, geospatial data distribution analysis, advanced attribute sorting and classification and significance testing. Apply measures of spatial autocorrelation to characterize spatial properties of geospatial data. Use Python to streamline geoprocessing tasks. Analyze and integrate multiple sources of geospatial and sensor data into ISR optimization studies. Develop streamlined geospatial and imagery workflows.

Data processing of Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) time series data. Master’s thesis work involves investigating photosynthetic trends in North America from 1981 – 1998. Train colleagues in using PCI and ArcInfo. Analyze and process Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM), and Multispectral Scanner (MSS) imagery. Imagery interpretation of deforestation in the tropical rainforests. Train processors and editors in image interpretation, PCI, and ArcInfo.

Use ERDAS Imagine and ArcGIS to analyze, process, and integrate multiple sources of technical data into tailored intelligence products. Use ERDAS Imagine and ArcGIS to perform Line of Sight (LOS) analysis, viewshed analysis, DEM creation, density analysis, and route studies. Use GAPS pathfinder to compute least cost path analysis. Georeference raster products to baseline data, reproject data, convert data from one file format to another, and combine, erase, and update spatial features and attributes in spatial data.

Support data production research projects, including land surface and biosphere-atmosphere modeling, and inter-annual variation in climate and land surface vegetation. Write C and IDL code to more accurately compute Leaf Area Index (LAI), Fraction of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FPAR), and a greenness index from the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI).

Provide direct support to the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) in their efforts to migrate to server based and web enabled software and data. Collaborate across the agency to gather software, hardware, and interface requirements for geospatial and imagery analysis. Conduct pilot activities for web based imagery exploitation, data review and retrieval using ArcServer 10.1 and SQL Express. Lead reference data analysis, collection, and validation task for the Intelligence Community (IC), resulting in the identification of data gaps and the procurement of $500k of geospatial data. Create Test and Evaluation (T&E) and data validation plans for the IC. Plan and coordinate work assignments for junior level staff, and assess performance. Develop data management plans and setup ArcServer and ArcSDE in development lab spaces, resulting in a dramatic increase in the robustness and efficiency of data storage and retrieval. Create scenario datasets for internal MITRE programs, resulting in re-usable test data.
