Malek Atrissi

Malek has more than 20 years working in the ICT industry in Africa and the Middle East. He gained ample experience in the telecom industry as well as great deal of exposure to the overall functioning of highly successful and professional multinational telecom operators. Malek assumed CEO positions for different network operators. During his various assignments, he encountered vast and diverse experience in setting up companies’ vision and strategy, aligning operational initiatives with strategic objectives, and ensuring successful execution. Malek has vast technical knowledge in 2G, 3G, 4G and Wimax broadand technologies, but more importantly has a good understanding of the business value chain and the role of the network technology to align to the business requirements in the fast changing ICT world. He has also participated in different due diligences for network operator acquisitions and has been a board member representing MTN in ACE landing station. Malek’s prefers to extend the horizons of his work in order to autonomously align his priorities with the overall business goals and bridge the gaps between various functional areas. He believes that there are many ways of doing things and would compare different options to find the most appropriate ones without losing sight of the bigger picture. He would work within the rules but would be guided by the company’s vision and values and review the rules as appropriate. He believes that uncertainty is inherent to business and would try to mitigate risk as appropriate. He is aware of the dynamic nature of the business and the need to continuously learn and discover new opportunities.
