The charity aims to reduce isolation and marginalisation of members of the Somali community by enabling them to develop skills, confidence and encouraging them to participate in and become visible in community life.

DBG is Nairobi- headquartered Somali local NGO. DBG literally translates to Common Community Care. In 1992 and in response the devastating impacts of Somali civil war, Diakonie Emergency Aid (DEA) and Caritas, both of Germany (DCG) started humanitarian relief activities in Somalia under DBG.

Selected as one of 60 ‘future public leaders’ by social innovation NGO – The Young Foundation. UpRising is a new leadership programme being developed by the Young Foundation to support and train a new generation of public leaders. UpRising identifies, recruits, develops and supports young leaders to enable them to play a greater role in politics and public decision-making.
