About
As a current college junior, I am eager to channel my passion for the engineering field into meaningful contributions. Throughout my academic journey, I have already gained valuable experience through various team projects during high school and my first years of college, focusing on my passion for hands-on work. My commitment to excellence and hard work has allowed me to become adaptable, develop strong organizational skills, and excel as a team player. These qualities, coupled with my determination, have been instrumental in my success so far. As I continue moving forward with my academic and professional growth, I am excited about the prospect of further refining these skills. My enthusiasm for engineering is matched by my willingness to learn and grow for whatever role I'm in. I am actively seeking summer opportunities to apply my skills and positively impact an innovative organization. I believe that my dedication, along with my evolving knowledge of the engineering field, positions me to bring a fresh perspective and contribute to important projects. Looking ahead, I am excited to connect with industry professionals, mentors, and peers who share my ambition for engineering excellence. My goal is to continue building my academic foundation and gaining hands-on experiences to make a lasting mark on the world of engineering. Feel free to connect with me at mvj3@rice.edu

Education

Engineering Distinction
Over my high school career, I strived for excellence in everything that I did, whether it was academics, sports, or extracurriculars because I wanted to leave a legacy - one of hard work, determination, and ambition. Starting as a freshman, I began my journey to higher education. Over the years, I challenged myself with honors, AP, and dual-enrolled classes. I ventured down the engineering track that was offered and found the major that I would pursue in college. I joined activities that I was passionate about and took the initiative to start a club when I saw a need at my school. I endeavored to be someone my peers could call on for help, leading me to do things like join Peer Tutoring and run for Student Council. Additionally, I made sure to enrich my time by volunteering with various organizations and participating in summer programs. Looking back at the end of my career, I was successful in leaving my mark on my high school, and am ready to continue my legacy at Rice University.
