Madison Donenfeld

Hi! My name is Madison Donenfeld, a first-year student at The George Washington University studying Political Communication in the School of Media & Public Affairs. I’m passionate about politics, media, and public engagement, and how communication shapes civic participation and public understanding. I have experience in both government and campaign settings. As a former intern with New York State Senator Brian Kavanagh, I worked closely with constituents on issues including housing, social services, and local policy concerns, while also supporting outreach efforts and conducting policy research. I later interned on Congressman Tom Suozzi’s campaign, where I engaged directly with voters through canvassing, phone banking, and community events. In addition to my political experience, I have a background in media, design, and content production. I served as Editor-in-Chief of The Classic Critic, leading the publication’s staff and expanding the publication’s digital presence through podcasts and multimedia initiatives. I’m especially interested in political journalism, campaign communications, and entertainment as a lens through which audiences engage with politics and culture. I’m always looking for opportunities to grow within journalism, entertainment, media, or politics.
