Maddie Haun
Project Manager @ XNW Atelier
About
Hi! Thanks for (virtually) stopping by. I’m Maddie Haun, a Drake University graduate who triple majored in Public Relations, Strategic Political Communications and Political Science. You can catch me sending tasks, managing workloads and ensuring we Get Things Done for clients at XNW Digital. I categorize my experience as two-sided, much like the right & left brain. On one side, I am a copywriter and marketer who loves to communicate the most important messages for businesses in a distilled, user-friendly way without the confusing jargon (which is, understandably, common in financial services). On the other side, I am a strategic project planner and professional fire extinguisher who appreciates a good to-do list while balancing all aspects of a project. Both sides get me jazzed, and my passion for them is unending. Due to my dual professional personas, I appreciate roles & teams that are interdisciplinary where I can flex my creative muscles and utilize my quick problem-solving and planning personality to meet goals. I thrive when I balance my big-picture thinking and attention to detail practice. I am passionate and hard-working and appreciate the authentic relationships I build with clients and coworkers. Whether you’d like to connect to discuss project management tools (I’m an Asana nerd through and through), witty copywriting or Nebraska sports teams, I’d love to connect!

Project Coordinator
San Diego, California, United States · Remote
In my role with Out & About Communications, I served as a member of the project management team. My goal was to make sure that every piece of our client's plan got across the finish line on time, within budget, and with the best service in the industry. I communicated with our internal team at Out & About as well as met with and answered any questions from clients, keeping everyone on the same page across organizations. With a strong background in financial services, I met the needs of each of our clients - mid-sized financial services companies with an interest in growth.

Student Ambassador
As a Student Ambassador, I gave weekly tours to prospective students and their families in both individual and group settings. I served as a point of reference for students, as well as a bridge between new students and higher education. I was also frequently placed on panels, allowing students and families to understand my journey as a student at Drake University.

Social Media Chair for Drake Outdoor Leadership Club
In this role, I created graphics for the DOLC's Instagram and Facebook pages utilizing Canva and Procreate, as well as curated messaging that was easily understood and visually appealing for all audiences. On top of this, I completely reimagined the online presence of the organization with the focus to increase engagement.

Vice President of Student Activities (Student Activities Board President)
Within this role, I served as the Vice President of Student Activities for Drake University's Student Senate on the executive board. I also served as the President of the Student Activities Board, which is the largest programming board on Drake's campus. In this capacity, I assisted in the planning of Drake Relays events (the third largest track & field event in the United States) and bringing acts to campus (whether it was musicians, comedians, etc.). Through these roles, I was able to work directly with agents and plan events for our college campus.

Vice President Communications (Creative Director)
I developed any necessary design for all projects – digital, print, or otherwise – for the Student Alumni Association. This included, but was not limited to posters, table tents, and online graphics for social media. I also managed the brand standards and guaranteed that all communication produced by SAA fell within the style guide and was on-brand while creating interesting, eye-catching, and unique communication.

Employee Communications/HR Intern
Des Moines, Iowa, United States
I helped maintain the intranet by creating written content for the Bank, helping to disseminate information to nearly 400 employees about Bank-wide initiatives and goals. On Mondays, I sent a weekly newsletter to all fulltime employees utilizing Marketo. Intermittently, I wrote copy for the Bank's social media platforms, mostly appearing on LinkedIn. Graphic design was another intermittent task, creating graphics for Bank-wide events and initiatives. I also served as the in-house photographer for Bank events and professional headshots for employees.

The Weekly Co-Coordinator
Lincoln, Nebraska, United States
In my position as The Weekly Co-Coordinator, I sent out weekly emails to over 500 volunteer staff members about what was happening in the organization. This utilized Constant Contact, an email marketing platform.

Communications & Marketing Assistant
The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center
Des Moines, Iowa, United States
I both planned social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and designed graphics utilizing Hootsuite, Adobe Spark, and Adobe Photoshop. I especially worked to deliver the national Character Counts Week media plan to over 25,000 followers across platforms. Along with work on social media and graphics, I researched past clients and formulated website logistics through Wordpress.
