Mabeth is a nonprofit leader, spiritual director, retreat leader, and writer. After practicing law for the early part of her career with Miles & Stockbridge and Treanor, Pope, & Hughes, she led an intentional listening and discernment process that gave birth to Well for the Journey in 2002. Well for the Journey ("The Well") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community center that nurtures spiritual growth and wellness through innovative programs. She serves on The Well’s Board of Directors, chairs its Program Circle, and oversees curriculum development for Women at the Well, a signature program. Mabeth holds a Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law (1985) and Master of Arts in Spiritual and Pastoral Care from Loyola University Maryland (2009). She is married, has 3 young adult children, and lives on a farm north of Baltimore.
