Nieuwe Gracht is een ontwerp- en onderzoeksbureau voor stedebouw en landschap. Het bureau is opgericht in 1990 en sindsdien werken we op alle schalen aan inrichtingsplannen, masterplannen en (lokale en regionale) structuurvisies. Ook agenderende ontwerpen op landsdelig en nationaal niveau behoren tot ons werkveld. We vinden dat een goed plan gebaseerd is op gebiedskennis, een goede ruimtelijke analyse en aandacht voor de geschiedenis van een plek. Ruimtelijke kwaliteit krijgt er een betekenis door die zich losmaakt van eigenstandige vormwil. Onze aanpak is inzichtelijk en communicatief. In een helder gestructureerd proces komen we samen met de opdrachtgever(s) en belanghebbenden tot vernieuwende, maar altijd realiseerbare oplossingen. Onze opdrachtgevers zijn gemeenten, regionale samenwerkingsverbanden, provincies en het rijk.

The Foundation dr. ir. Marc Jacobs wants to advance the development of urban planning and design by widening the international orientation of students attending Dutch academic institutions. The foundation has been established in memory of Dr. Ir. Marc Jacobs. During a five year period the foundation will give students at Master’s level the opportunity to participate in the annual ISOCARP congresses, which are held around the world. The 46th congress will be held in Nairobi (Kenia), in the autumn of 2010. For this purpose the foundation will award a grant to at least one student, which will cover the costs of travel, accomodation and conference. Candidates are invited to submit a brief paper based on their graduation project. Academic quality as well as relevance to Dutch or Western European professional practice are important criteria which will be evaluated by an independent jury.
