I’m an amiable, hard-working, confident young man who is very passionate about joining the ranks of educators. Worked under Gallaudet University’s student run newspaper as the editor of the Sports and Leisure section. I worked with various students who write for our newspaper, conducted interviews with different teams and organizations on campus, and wrote my own articles for Buff and Blue.

Was responsible for tidying up the library, putting back books/media, reorganizing rows, shelves, and etc. Mostly worked closely with the librarians and helped them with their tasks. Worked in a private room with historical and valuable documents on some days.

I worked in the dorms of Walden School with Deaf students with additional disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, Autism, emotional dysregulation, emotional trauma from abuse, rape, and/or neglect during their childhoods, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Cognitive disabilities, and several other types of disabilities. I aided with teaching these students coping skills, Independent Living Skills (ILS for short), time management, teamwork with peers, and hosted and supervised several types of activities that included but not limited to: outdoor activities, sports, outdoor games, art/crafts projects, Yoga, and several field trips. My duties involved cleaning theaters, conducting restroom checks, restocking, customer service, general cleaning, and checking theaters during movie runtimes to prevent piracy. I reported to Haushamm Khan during my employment there. I earned the Employee of the Month for November.

Worked for Andy and Kerrie Tao as a live at home aupair for their Hard of Hearing toddler. I helped to supervise their child when they both were at work and picked him up from school on a daily basis. While he was under my supervision, I was responsible for his naptime, preparing lunch, changing diapers when needed, took him out to parks, libraries, indoor play areas, and museums. I also played and talked with him during the time we stayed at home, helping out with imaginary play and reading basic books with him. I worked with their two year old boy for 25 hours every week.

Worked at Camp Taloali in Stayton, OR. Worked under Sylvia Hall and Kivo LeFerve. Worked with other staff members to ensure that the campers enjoyed their time at Camp Taloali as much as possible. I worked mostly with the youngest group of male campers but often helped out with the older campers when needed. Working with the campers, I made sure that their needs were met and that they were being safe and having fun at Camp Taloali. Also led several nature, rockwall, and low ropes activities as needed.

I work with other Peer Mentors to help first year students to feel more comfortable at Gallaudet University and to ease the transition from either high school or hearing college to Gallaudet University. I co-teach a First-Year Seminar class here at Gallaudet University alongside with Andy Tao and I help plan and work at several events hosted by Student Success

Worked with staff members during activities time when their campers were scheduled to either use the rock climbing wall or the low ropes course. I ensured that all of the campers were safe and enjoying themselves. I also worked closely with other staff members when the rock wall and the low rope course weren’t open.
