In 2018, I met one of the founders of Lightelligence Inc. at a private dinner through my aunt’s connections. He was seeking seed round financing to promote the company’s photonic computing platform research and development. Through in-depth technical exchanges and discussions on market prospects, I became very interested in the company’s technical direction and the execution of the founding team. As an investor with a deep understanding of semiconductor equipment and the high-tech industry, I see the huge potential of photonic computing in the fields of AI, data centers and computing acceleration. Based on my trust in technology and my judgment of future market demand, I decided to directly participate in Lightelligence’s seed round financing through my aunt’s recommendation and become an angel investor in the project. Although I am not involved in the company’s daily management, I have been providing financial support to the founding team to help the company complete technology verification and customer expansion in the early stages. Investing in this startup is not only based on interest in cutting-edge technology, but also on seeing its competitiveness and development space in the future market.

Served as project leader to oversee the customer-specific development and global deployment of the Centura Prismo and Producer XP series equipment platforms, which are key CVD/ALD systems launched by Applied Materials for advanced logic and memory chip manufacturing, and are widely used in 7nm to 3nm process nodes. Led multiple customer Joint Development Programs (JDPs), including highly selective atomic layer deposition (ALD) system upgrade projects developed in cooperation with TSMC and Samsung Electronics, focusing on overcoming the difficulties of material selectivity, low-temperature deposition and deposition uniformity control in multi-layer structures.

After graduating from the master's program, I joined Applied Materials as a system engineer in the semiconductor equipment department under the recommendation of my mentor, and participated in the system integration and control solution optimization of plasma etching and chemical vapor deposition equipment (CVD). Mainly responsible for the debugging of multi-axis motion control and sensing systems, performance testing of equipment submodules (such as chambers and transmission systems), and supporting technical adaptation and problem diagnosis for global customers. During this period, I worked closely with the process engineering and software teams to participate in multiple new equipment verification projects under the 7nm process platform. In addition, I also assisted in completing a localized configuration document system for Asia-Pacific customers, and traveled with the team to Taiwan and South Korea to participate in customer on-site deployment and process collaborative testing, accumulating rich experience in front-line system debugging and cross-border collaboration.

Due to his outstanding performance in multiple product introduction projects, he was dispatched by Schneider Electric headquarters to the Suzhou Manufacturing Base in China in 2008 as a project engineer in China, responsible for supporting the localization of low-voltage electrical equipment. During his tenure, he led the implementation of multiple localization replacement projects for key components, promoted the optimization of the local supply chain, improved manufacturing efficiency and significantly reduced costs. At the same time, he coordinated the three-party engineering teams of China, the United States and France to ensure that local processes meet global product quality standards.

After the internship, I officially joined Schneider Electric as a junior mechanical engineer in the low-voltage distribution system division. I was mainly responsible for the structural optimization of complete sets of equipment, the design of fixed structures of electrical components, and the development and testing of thermal control modules. During this period, I participated in several new product introduction (NPI) projects for the North American market, including the structural standardization of a compact circuit breaker system for industrial customers. In the project, I was proficient in using Pro/ENGINEER and ANSYS for 3D modeling and thermal structure analysis to promote the continuous optimization of product reliability and assembly efficiency. In addition, I also assisted the quality and manufacturing team in handling on-site assembly issues, and worked closely with the factory and supply chain departments, accumulating valuable experience for the subsequent transition to system-level equipment design.

I started my internship at Schneider Electric through Purdue University campus recruitment and participated in the low-voltage distribution cabinet thermal management optimization project. I was responsible for supporting the thermal simulation data analysis of structural parts, electrical component layout testing, and ventilation system improvement program research. At the same time, I assisted in organizing project technical documents, participated in project meeting minutes and stage report writing, and gained a preliminary understanding of the cross-departmental technical collaboration process.

After leaving Schneider Electric in 2013, I entered Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue a master's degree in mechanical engineering, focusing on intelligent manufacturing and automation systems, in order to systematically improve my capabilities in high-precision control and automation integration. The learning content covered advanced control theory, robotic systems, mechatronic system modeling and manufacturing automation processes, and I participated in laboratory projects to study real-time control system optimization algorithms in multi-axis equipment.

While studying for a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University West Lafayette, I systematically studied core courses such as engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, control systems and mechanical design, and mastered engineering software such as AutoCAD and Pro/ENGINEER. During this period, I participated in projects related to mechatronics and precision control, which laid a solid technical foundation for my subsequent work in high-end manufacturing and semiconductor equipment industries.
