Extensive experience working within hedge funds/trading/accounting business environments both as an analyst accountant and Excel VBA RAD developer. Career started working as an accountant / auditor before moving into the trading environment. Each role has been a balanced combination of active role along with development, automation and application development. These two elements often go hand in hand with a synergistic, cost benefit being received when the two are effectively integrated. Other main skills are based around data analysis, manipulation and reporting. This includes raw financial data in native systems (SAP, Oracle) with subsequent analysis for fraud, error and duplication allowing for the recovery of lost profits and error reduction (using properietary database software). Spend analytics, data mining and reporting are all covered. Current interests include Parallel Computing, GPGPU, CUDA and Quantitative Finance (with associated Computational Finance).
