As Senior Mechanical engineer I have been responsible for coordinating a major re-design and installation of the core process equipment within the gasification system. This incorporated all engineering stages from concept design workshops, including P&ID production, HazOp studies, equipment specification and procurement, supplier and contractor management to testing, commissioning and implementing operational procedures. I work closely with the research and innovative engineering department focusing on system efficiency improvements and fault-finding & rectification. I also held responsibility for programme and cost management.

ITI Energy as an EPC Contractor have developed a highly advanced gasification system. We have incorporated a number of best available technologies to overcome the issues associated with providing synthetic gas directly to a reciprocating engine close coupled to a generator set. I joined ITI Energy at the early mobilisation stage of the project, at this time I was involved in the detailed design and co-ordination, production of schedules, HAZOP study, GA and P&ID Drawings. I took a lead role in the procurement of plant and subcontractors and as the project developed moved on site to manage both the subcontract and directly employed installation teams. Part of my site based role includes the implementation of CDM, SHEQ environmental policies and best practice. My responsibilities involves working closely with a wide variety of disciplines both in house and external, covering a number of areas, including cost control, strategy planning, programming, client liaison and specialist supplier management.

I have worked on a number of prestigious projects with values ranging from £75k to £5.8m, (mechanical values ranging from £50k to £2.9m), and have extensive experience of working within a site based contracting role. On projects targeting a BREEAM excellent rating, collaboration with the wider design team has enabled this to be achieved in all cases I form good working relationships with Clients and work well in multi-discipline teams. I set strict standards in terms of Client care and customer focus and have considerable experience of working to technical and Quality Assurance standards. I believe in keen attention to detail, but I am also very much aware of the bigger picture relating to programme, customer relationships and cost management. I have an enthusiastic and committed work ethic and a positive and proactive approach. I feel it is important to lead from the front and have a problem solving attitude. I have been commended on my ability to deal efficiently with unforeseen circumstances and to tailor designs to adapt to Clients’ changing requirements.
