About
Ms. Ludmilla Huntsman is the founding director of the Cognitive Security Alliance, where she leads efforts to help governments and private sector organizations enhance information integrity through cognitive security. She is also a guest editor for Frontiers in AI and the Big Data group of journals. Ms. Huntsman served as a U.S. government advisor on countering Russian disinformation (2013-14), was a finalist for the 2022 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program and has lectured for congressionally commissioned programs. Her research focuses on state of the art models designed to address hybrid threats and cognitive resilience. In 2016-17, Ms. Huntsman developed a cyber risk management program for the U.S. Department of State, leveraging DARPA-sponsored research to strengthen Ukraine's information security posture. In 2013-14, she served as the 152nd Franklin Fellow at the U.S. Department of State and as an advisor to the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. During her tenure, she was detailed to support the Secretary's special initiative and helped launch the Department of State's strategic communication task force, the first interagency initiative within the U.S. government for rapid response to Russian disinformation. She also authored the Department’s public-private partnership policy guide. Ms. Huntsman has provided consulting services to a diverse range of organizations, including CBS News, the U.S. Global Media Agency, the World Bank Group, USAID programs in Ukraine, the U.S. Congressional Office for International Leadership, Google, and IBM, among others. Fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and German, she has a strong command of multiple Slavic languages.
