Oversees development of optical systems and metrology validation for automotive electronics, including FSD hardware, camera systems, and LED lighting modules. Responsible for planning, development, sourcing, and evaluation of advanced sensing and imaging solutions through leadership of cross-functional teams of optical, software, and test engineers. Drives intellectual property strategy, including evaluation and execution of patent protection, while fostering a culture of innovation across engineering solutions. Leads validation and testing of metrology systems supporting vehicle electronics and autonomous driving platforms. Experience includes camera optics for FSD systems, LED inspection and calibration, high-resolution imaging for display and sensor validation, automated focus and alignment systems, and lifecycle management of legacy platforms.

Develop rapid inspection and validation systems for Full Scan Driving (FSD) hardware, including camera, vision system, and sensor integration, as well as LED lighting and display modules. Utilize a modular, off-the-shelf architecture to support diverse automotive inspection needs. Develop a suite of dedicated tools for validating imaging, lighting, and electronic systems. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to define requirements, define project scope, and execute deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.

Proposed and drove the development of next-generation validation systems for autonomous driving and in-vehicle electronics. Partnered with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver critical roadmap programs from concept to mass production.

- Defined Magna's rear view camera and surround view camera roadmap and architectures. Work with product design engineering team to execute programs and launch camera products - Responsible for camera global technical sales of tens of millions of dollars. Won rear view camera programs from the first Japanese OEM and the first Chinese OEM. Won the first North American program of surround view camera system - Led the development and personally invented several key camera technologies that have been implemented in the production vehicles in the global markets. Examples: Magna's first entry level multi-camera surround view camera prototype system and Trailer Angle Detection system which are the ley parts of Ford Trailer Backup System, the winner of 2016 CES Best Innovation Award. - Managed a North American optics engineering team to design camera optical components and deliver best in class camera image quality

- Created from ground up the Magna camera optics development process, including optical engineering design and evaluation, validation test and manufacturing focus and test processes - Developed the Magna standard camera focus test software that has been deployed to every Magna camera test systems and manufacturing focus stations globally - Created automotive industry's first and most comprehensive lens specification that allows the lens suppliers to meet automotive camera requirements - Developed and grew a lens supplier that has become the largest automotive lens suppliers globally - Built a rich portfolio (>30) of reusable lens designs for automotive cameras, including the most used lens for Mobileye (EyeQ2) based front facing camera modules by multiple OEMs and Tier-1s globally

- Served as project manager and technical project manager in machine vision and automated test and control systems. Responsible of over 35 successful deployment of industrial systems to customers including GM, Chrysler, General Dynamics, Siemens, John Deere, Intel, etc. - Architected and led the development of several high performance industrial machine vision systems. Won 2 international application awards with one of the systems. - Supervised an engineering team of 20 persons with hiring, tutoring and performance appraisal. - Led a large in-house and offshore development team for several multi-million dollar projects. Created and refined processes in system design, development and review which maximized development efficiency and enhanced quality. Resulted in significant cost saving (>15%), software quality improvement and on-time deliveries. - Developed system requirement specifications, LabVIEW and C software for automated test and control system and machine vision systems
