About
Throughout my life I have always committed all my energy and interest into everything I do. I am a friendly and approachable person with an extremely positive, polite and get-up-and-go attitude, who will handle any task given with enthusiasm whether it be in a group or independently. I have always credited myself to be a creative thinker able to solve the most challenging of problems quickly and effectively. Not only this I have always been a very ambitious person, determined to create the best quality work - accepting any kind of criticism - in order to ensure that the final result goes beyond the professional standard. Having always had an interest in art from a young age, my university experience has only fuelled this interest into a passion for all things Design and Illustration. Mainly taking inspiration from Mid-Century artists such as Charley Harper and Josef Müller-Brockmann, I mix this with a unique blend of authentic hand-rendered typography and minimalistic design, in order to create a distinctive and effective style.

Experience

Graphic Designer and Product Designer
CGB Giftware
For just over 5 years I worked as a Graphic Designer and Product Designer creating numerous new and original giftware lines and collections as an in-house designer at CGB Giftware, following creative briefs led by emerging trends in order to create eye catching, design-led products for varying target markets, using a versatile range of illustrative and design skills. As well as sourcing and negotiating with factories in terms of design opportunities, I also brought new product lines to ranges as well as adapting existing products for use in multiple collections, ensuring products and packaging are of the highest standard. As such I managed numerous projects at any one time in order to meet the quick turnaround of the retail industry. My duties also included designing brand collateral for cross-departmental and customer use as well as for marketing purposes across print and digital formats; this included, designing promotional/advertising campaigns for online channels including social media marketing, HTML e-mail newsletters, digital assets and online graphics for the company website. Part of my role included directing the company's lifestyle photoshoots for recently developed products, reflecting range collections and resulted in professionally edited images for print and digital assets such as brochures, leaflets and digital catalogues.

Design Intern
80 Strand, London. WC2R 0RL
After winning the Penguin Design Award in 2015 part of the prize included a month's internship at Penguin Random House in the Puffin Children's department. During this time I was tasked with many different projects including designing and arranging book covers, logo design and conceptualising design ideas across the department totalling in over 15 projects. Working to short deadlines I had to ensure that I worked quickly and maintaining the highest quality in order to present to supervisors, department heads and meetings with different departments.

Photography Assistant
Positive Image Photography
Two weeks worth of continual work experience with Positive Image Photography, a self-employed professional photographer. Helping out with technical support on location work, assisting with the positioning of lighting and staging of photographs. Learning photography editing skills on the Adobe Creative Suite at a basic level at the time of experience.

Work Placement
Manchester, UK
Two weeks' work of experience during an allocated time in High School (from May 5th - May 15th 2009) with EDAW, now AECOM, an Urban Regeneration and Architecture company. I was taught the basics of software used at the company which was mainly Photoshop as well as analogue architectural planning. I was also given an in-house project to regenerate an area of land around Tib Street, Manchester, in the time frame of my work experience. This culminated in a final presentation of work to be shown to two key members of staff. For this project, I was tasked with providing multiple idea generation and area research considering all types of architecture; Location shoots of the chosen area; detailed development including architectural planning and concept art.
