* This experience was a three month placement at Blanch House, a three star townhouse hotel in the heart of Brighton. * As a trainee, i was assisting the Duty Manager in charge. It was the opportunity to have an insight into all areas of a small Boutique Hotel. * I had multipurpose missions as : * Front office : * Handling telephone enquiries * Check-in and check-out * Deal with guests enquiries * Marketing : * Insight into marketing activity of a small hotel (presence on websites) * Stock control, supplier relations * Understanding of relationships with key food and non-food suppliers * Service : * Breakfast service, managing and restocking breakfast buffet * Serving room service breakfast * Service at the bar for guests * Housekeeping : * Training for cleaning rooms to three star standard * Linen care. Make sure towels, bathrobes and napkins are washed in-house * Set up of the Guest Lounge and Bar, and functions * I developed skills like : * Customer service skills * Ability to work well under pressure * Use of an online reservation system
