I work as Advanced Nurse Practitioner in an Emergency Department. My role as advanced clinical practitioner consists on assessing patients autonomously attending Emergency Department through history taking and physical examination, diagnosing and treating them. Discussing with my senior colleagues makes my practice safer and it is a great opportunity to progress in my clinical development. I am also a non-medical prescriber which allows me to prescribe any sort of medication within my scope of practice. I am currently only working with adult patients in all different areas of the Emergency Department (Resus, Majors and Minors), and would like to expand my knowledge in paediatrics in the near future. I am currently in the process of completing the RCEM portfolio.

In this role I developed further skills in management such as being in charge of the Emergency Department, liaising with complaints, escalating to the site team, mentoring and educating students and other staff, auditing, researching and recruiting new staff.

I volunteered as staff nurse in a refugee camp in Thessaloniki. My role consisted in assisting medical consultations in a mobile clinic as well as organising medical education in ILS for staff and refugees, and participating in wellbeing workshops and physical activities.

Staff nurse in the Emergency Department of a general hospital in London. This was my first job in the Emergency Department which truly helped to develop further skills in emergencies.

Staff nurse in an acute medical unit in Romford. This job helped me to adapt to the NHS. I was responsible of admitting patients from Accident and Emergency, that were mainly medical patients but there were also patients from other specialties such as vascular, surgery and/or orthopedics.

I worked as community nurse in different GP surgeries and walk-in centres in Majorca. This role helped to acquired skills in primary healthcare such as minor illnesses, minor injuries, regular check-ups, medication reviews, vaccinations, etcetera. I also undertook paediatrics check-ups and carry out vaccination programmes. Furthermore, I developed excellent skills in wound management. I also developed emergency skills in the community, as I was part of a mobile/home service whilst working in walk-in centres.
