• Managed a $20M USD market system development program focussed on 7 agricultural value chains and financial services for agriculture. • Pioneered a first-of-its-kind approach for USAID to deliver flexible and responsive support to market innovators while fulfilling compliance requirements. • Led strategic vision and intervention design for a team of 20 staff across 3 offices.

• Guided staff to develop their workplans at the start of the project and craft the implementation strategy for the Programme’s energy components. • Empowered a team of 12 to deliver policy analysis and facilitate business environment reform in agricultural market developments, trade facilitation, business environment reform, land policy and taxation for the USAID SPEED Programme. • Delivered key regulatory reforms that enabled ratification of the Trade Facilitation Agreement and establishment of a land-lease market for the USAID SPEED Programme.

• Helped design the East Africa private-sector compact, with a focus on the Tanzanian infrastructure, agro-processing, and tourism sectors.

• Created and launched the Solomon Islands Market Development Programme to strengthen the regulatory framework for private sector enterprise. • Devised a novel, first-of-its-kind approach for DFAT to overcome structural constraints rooted in the lack of transport infrastructure and a functioning land market.

• Reviewed and advised on the design of the Mercy Corps Agriculture Based Market Development in Eastern Indonesia (AMDEI) project, a new programme focussed on developing Eastern Indonesia’s clove, nutmeg, seaweed and fishery industries. • Guided the programme to facilitate formation of sustainable commercial relationships between medium and large corporate entities and farmers and fishermen. • Stewarded efforts to bring local products onto the global market, lift the income of 30,000 farmers by 40%, and strengthen information flow across the supply chain.

• Promoted public-private dialogue and economic growth by shepherding an innovative UK FCDO programme that applies system analysis to build partnerships and foster growth in a broad range of sectors. • Expertly navigated unique political sensitivities to foster economic reform through first-time collaboration among the Zimbabwean, U.K. and Danish governments.

• Conducted a regional market development study on trade logistics for maize and edible oil, assessing freight logistics along three key supply chains in East Africa.

• Redesigned the 4th phase of a 30M AUD programme aimed at integrating 70,000 micro-entrepreneurs into the local market over 5 years. • Deployed a market-development approach to transform a livelihood programme into one with a strong emphasis on sustainability and creating market value. • Introduced innovative solutions for larger commercial actors and government to sustain micro-entrepreneurship development beyond the life of the programme.
