Evaluated raw material and finished product samples for specification compliance using a variety of analytical techniques. Methods and equipment include Mojonnier extraction, microbial analysis, viscometer, refractometer, pH meter, titrations and sensory evaluations.

Performed preclinical in vitro evaluations on antibacterial agents, including antibiotic susceptibility testing using various methods and resistance studies. Participated in the determination of the bactericidal activity of antimicrobial agents through time kill curves and comparison of killing rates. Processed specimens from different sites conducting clinical trials including isolation & identification of pathogens present.

Involved in the HCV NS5A anti-viral drug discovery efforts. Responsibilities include maintenance of cell cultures for testing, major support for synthetic chemistry effort by evaluating compounds in different cell lines using assays such as FRET, ELISA and BVDV-Luciferase. Involved in generation of resistance of compounds to cells, isolation of RNA, RT-PCR, DNA cloning.

Involved in the HIV antiviral drug discovery efforts. Tested compounds for their antiviral activity in cell culture using luciferase based reporter assays and cytotoxicity. Performed data analysis. Maintained cell lines and viral stocks required for assays. Part of the team that discovered and characterized a new HCV NS5A inhibitor, Daklinza. Performed compound evaluations, combination studies, resistance selections, phenotypic & genotypic analysis of clinical isolates.
