I am a qualified attorney with a MBA and MPhil in Sustainable Development and Planning. My past experience includes running my own practice, working in the NGO sector, writing research papers on housing and related matters, and consulting for the private and public sector. I am particularly interested in the role and impact of policy and governance, in both the private and public sector in supporting a low carbon transition in South Africa. Focus areas: Own and commissioned research relating to energy policy and infrastructure, sustainable strategies and development, and the green economy. I am also the lead on the following WWF-SA programmes/projects: Urban Futures and Energy, WWF China/Africa Programme - with a particular focus on engagement with the Forum on China/Africa Cooperation (FOCAC); Climate Solver; 'Greening' of Social Housing' project - partnering with NASHO and Communicare; and Sustainable Public Procurement Project - partnering with IISD and the Government of the Western Cape.
