* Intern (Resources sector) - worked directly for Carl Esprey, Fund Manager and Co- Head of Metals and Mining. * Built and maintained detailed Supply and Demand models for Steel and Iron Ore * Built industry and commodity data and chart packs focusing on both equities and underlying commodities. An example of this is GLG’s copper data pack which collates production, end use demand, import and export data points globally. * Assisted in making changes to underlying equity models. Examples include normalizing commodity assumptions across multiple companies and running commodity and currency sensitivities. * Collated sector information into a sector overview sheet. Involved extracting market relevant information (multiples, trading indicators) from multiples models and Bloomberg data sources * Liaised with Sell-Side Analysts to gather information (company valuation models, industry data packs etc.) and verify assumptions.

Part time waiter taking 2-3 early morning shifts a week serving breakfast, as well as on occasion taking afternoon shifts to help in the Hotel Brasserie. This part time job enhanced my ability to work under pressure, as a team, and has consolidated my communication skills. Worked to a deadline and helped increase my computer literacy.

* Summer analyst working for a Fund Manager on the Industrials Fund. Tasks included: * Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis using Excel, with Bloomberg inputs. * Generating Industrial sector sheets (i.e. Metals, Chemicals, Transport and Automobiles) to identify how these sectors (and companies therein) are affected by the performance of a competitor, the sector as a whole or even the fluctuation of commodity prices. * Made both the company and sector spreadsheets fully encoded to allow quick and seamless updating of the spreadsheets upon receipt of new company reports.

* This work experience helped me improve my Excel literacy and allowed me to use and get accustomed to Bloomberg. Tasks included: * Creating Bloomberg Indices to compare the different fund performances at GLG to those at other competing firms in the industry. * Reviewing the company calendar to make sure meeting attendees and organisers were noted correctly.

* Administrative Assistant, assisting architects with project administration and filing. * Responsible for incoming and outgoing drawings and Archetype computer system. * Attended a number of Site visits, and insured records and plans were up to date. * Helped increase computer literacy with use of new programs, and continued use of Excel, as well as communication skills across the office and with consultants/design partners.
