I have a deep need to listen to His calling...right now, that is to be an ethical business owner (with my husband) providing landscape services to those that need or desire them in such a way that they need not be worried, simultaneously I also provide a place of employment that is balanced and good, and mentor youth and young adults.

TPC-Twin Cities was brand new when I began working there; there was one year of construction left before the course opened. I initially worked as the Irrigation Foreman, working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent to finalize the installation of the irrigation system and then I worked to manage and maintain the entire state of the art irrigation system for the following two years. I managed the water needs of the entire golf course, adjusting needs on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. I was responsible for all repairs, adjustments, and schedules for the irrigation system. As Landscape Coordinator, I worked to install landscape beds around the newly constructed club house, practice facility, and various other garden areas on the golf course. One of the most fun projects I had was to design, maintain, and harvest a kitchen garden for use by the Head Chef.

As a college intern, my focus at WCC was on cultural controls or integrated pest management systems. I also participated in the certification process for the Audubon Sanctuary Certification. I was only briefly the Assistant Superintendent--my responsibilities included daily scheduling of the ground staff--comprised of 25-32 people, making sure the golf course, general property, club house, and clay tennis courts were maintained at the highest possible condition.
