Research and Development of advanced signal processing algorithms for fast tracking filter designs and parameter estimation in current, and emerging, wireless standards. application of advanced Numerical Linear Algebra, Sparse Signal, and Pattern Recognition/Machine Learning concepts for high performance signal processing computational kernels. Responsibilities include: development, verification/simulation and protection of Intellectual Property (via patent writing, consolidation, and strategies); evaluation of performance improvements in current and emerging wireless networks (IS-95, WCDMA, WiMAX/LTE, WiFi), and evangelization to potential customers; design and architecture considerations of fixed-point implementation, and efficient use of silicon size/power. Verification of novel mathematical derivations and concept with academia: for example, Professor Ali Sayed (UCLA) and Professor James Zeidler (USCD).
