As a Professional Mentor "Friend" at Friends of the Children Detroit, I am dedicated to impacting generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles. My core responsibility is to build and nurture a long-term, unconditional relationships with youth for 12.5 years, no matter what, starting in kindergarten or first grade. This "power of one" relationship is the foundation upon which we help youth create a new story. My work is primarily conducted throughout the community, meeting youth in their homes, schools, and communities, and planning meaningful activities to achieve each child's goals. I am committed to putting children first, listening to our youth, and basing decisions on their needs and dreams, fostering their internal resiliency. The role requires building relationships based on love, acceptance, trust, empathy, and healthy communication. Key aspects of my work include: •Providing culturally appropriate service and understanding the socioeconomic circumstances of the youth we serve. •Building relationships within the community to strengthen social networks and provide bridges to new opportunities.

I excel in program development by crafting and executing comprehensive financial literacy initiatives specifically tailored to meet the diverse needs of communities throughout Southeastern Michigan. My commitment extends to community outreach, where I actively engage with local organizations, schools, and community groups to promote financial literacy and establish partnerships for the seamless delivery of programs. As a workshop facilitator, I conduct engaging sessions covering vital topics like budgeting, savings, credit management, and investment strategies. Through effective resource management, I collaborate with internal teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials for program delivery. Additionally, my proficiency in data analysis allows me to collect and evaluate program data, enabling the measurement of impact, identification of improvement areas, and generation of insightful reports for stakeholders. With a collaborative spirit, I work closely with team members, community leaders, and partner organizations to create a supportive environment conducive to fostering financial education.

At Pink Energy, our mission is to help our customers reduce their dependence on the utility grid by allowing them to invest in a solar-powered future. While the big power companies continue to raise rates and dictate what a customer owes for electricity, we believe strongly in offering our customers a more practical option.
