Executive Director of Sustainable Cities

About

After 15 years in the NYC Mayor's Office, I have moved back to the private sector. I am now with a climate finance and investment firm, which combines my experiences on Wall Street and climate policy almost perfectly. Until March 2021, I was the climate diplomat for NYC working with cities around the world, as well as the UN and climate networks to share NYC's work on climate. I was previously Chief of Staff to the NYC Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Recovery, Resiliency & Infrastructure, and prior to that I was Director of External Affairs for the NYC Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery Operations, a position I held immediately after being part of the leadership team for the Special Initiative for Rebuilding & Resiliency, which produced a 400 page report addressing the challenges and potential resiliency solutions for the effects of Hurricane Sandy. The report was released 6/11/13. Prior to these roles I was Director of Special Projects for the Mayor's Office. My main role was project manager for the Second Avenue Subway construction and Barclay's Center projects overseeing all operational city agencies. Until June of 2011, I was Mayor Bloomberg's chief liaison for all Manhattan related community issues. I interacted with community groups, elected officials and city agencies to assist neighborhoods in solving both short term and long term situations. I also worked for Morgan Stanley for 12 years in the Investment Management division, in a variety of roles. My last position was as Vice President of the mutual fund asset allocation program area. I left in late 2003 and decided to take a year off, and at the end of that time period was hired by the Bloomberg campaign to run Manhattan grassroots activity in 2005. Specialties: Bringing together people with opposing viewpoints to come together and seek solutions [a bridge-builder], project management and problem solving, executive leadership skills, ability to handle many projects at once, ability to lead people with very different backgrounds than mine, board governance, climate communications
