I am a Procurement specialist with 29 years of overall experience and 19 years of experience in public procurement and contract management working with the Ministry of Railways, India. I have more than 10 years of project management experience, having managed 3 e-procurement projects. I presently work as Chief Procurement Manager with the Ministry of Railways at Southern Railway, Chennai, India. Recently I worked with the Government of Afghanistan for the past three years, in their Capacity Building for Results Project, one of the major projects of the Government in Civil Service Restructuring funded by the World Bank. I further have 2 years of international experience with Tanzania Railways, which was funded by World Bank/IFC. I am a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from ISM, USA and an Engineer by qualification and I also hold an International Diploma of 1 ½ years duration, in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management from International Trade Centre, Geneva. I have a certificate in Public Procurement, a certificate in Contract Management, both from the World Bank, and certificates in project management. I have extensive experience in procurement reforms and have worked in multiple sectors. I have trained and mentored national procurement staff during my two international assignments, and have been instrumental in organisational changes. I have highly advanced computer skills, including system management and database development. Having worked in different regions in India, Afghanistan and also in an African country, I have the ability to adapt to multi cultural and multi ethnic work environment.
