I am an MIT trained electrical engineer, Johns Hopkins trained Pediatric Cardiologist, medical inventor with 21 medical device patents, and an MBA. I have successfully licensed 7 of my patents to industry and assigned 6 patents to my startup company (MGI Medical - www.mgimedical.com) which is commercializing one of them. I provide advice to: --Academic Institutions that are trying to asses the clinical and commercial potential of new medical technology developed at their institutions. I am particularly helpful in assessing existing patents that overlap the invention, addressing human factors issues, improving inventions, and on occasion, coming up with improvements that make an invention patentable. --Corporations regarding assessment of new medical technology with particular attention to IP matters, clinical potential commercial potential, human factors and invention improvement. --Patent law firms, particularly regarding patentability assessment and infringement issues. I am particularly well suited to this work as I speak the languages of medicine, engineering and business and have extensive experience with IP matters; I have over 20 medical device patents, many of which I have written the detailed specifications section for. Also, I was the plaintiff in a 5-year patent infringement lawsuit with an outcome in my favor. --Investors who are conducting due diligence when deciding to invest in new medical technology --Inventors of Medical Technology regarding how to protect and commercialize their inventions, I am well suited to this work as I speak the vocabularies of medicine, engineering and business.

I have been a photographer ever since I was tall enough to reach the chemical trees in my father's darkroom. I have a vast library of images, about 40,000 of which have been digitized and probably an equal number that are yet to be digitized. I've participated in many photography expositions, the most recent of which was a display at the Westfield NJ Public Library, where we were helping a local organization, the Friends of Brightwood Park, to share the beauty of this nature preserve with town residents who may have not been aware of this treasure. Over the years, I've sold a few photos but it's been no significant source of income. I'm happy to teach aspiring photographers and help out community organizations on a purely volunteer basis.
