Llewellyn King is a British-American journalist, publisher and television producer. King was born in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. He went into journalism as soon as he turned 16, stringing for Time magazine and United Press in Africa. From there, King was off to London and the legendary Fleet Street, where he chalked up newspaper bylines (The Daily Sketch, The News Chronicle, The City Press) before doing a year of television writing for BBC and ITV. On to New York, where he was on the foreign desk of The Herald Tribune. Later he started Women Now, the first women's liberation magazine. After that venture (King says, "liberated all his money and no women"), he moved to Baltimore, where worked as an assistant editor at The Baltimore News American and also as an assistant editor at The Washington Daily News. Moving to Washington, he became an assistant editor at The Washington Post and a leader of the Baltimore-Washington Newspaper Guild. He founded The Energy Daily in 1973 -- before the energy crisis hit -- and was its publisher and editor chief until its sale, along with other King Publishing Group award-winning newsletters, which included Defense Week and New Technology Week, in 2006. He was awarded an honorary doctor of engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. In 2014, the United States Energy Association presented him with its annual United States Energy Award -- in the long history of the association, he is the only journalist to have received that award. King is the creator, host and executive producer of the long-running, weekly news and public affairs program, "White House Chronicle," which airs nationwide on PBS and public, educational and government cable access channels, and SiriusXM Radio's POTUS (Politics of the United States), Channel 124, and worldwide on Voice of America Television and Radio in English. He writes a weekly column for the InsideSources syndicate, which distributes it to 500 U.S. newspapers. A charity he founded in 2011, ME/CFS Alert on YouTube, produces videos which seek to help those who suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, educate doctors and encourage research in this mysterious, life-robbing disease.

"White House Chronicle" is a weekly news and current affairs program known for its originality, crisp thinking, humor and panache. I created the program in 1997, and I produce and host it with journalist Linda Gasparello. It is interested in what is impacting the way we live and work now -- including science, technology, medicine, energy, environment, books -- and contributing to policy. It is eclectic. We are eclectic -- that is the "White House Chronicle" way. I write a weekly column for the InsideSources syndicate, and I'm a contributor to Forbes. I'm an experienced public speaker and have addressed corportations, trade associations, colleges and universities and government entities in the United States and abroad. I created a YouTube channel, ME/CFS Alert, in 2011, which aims to help those suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, inform doctors, and pressure the government into doing more research on this life-confiscating disease.

I was the founder, publisher and editor in chief of The Energy Daily. The energy industry newsletter -- which I founded before the energy crisis broke out in 1973 -- was the flagship of King Publishing Group, whose other titles included Defense Week, New Technology Week, Navy News & Undersea Technology, and White House Weekly. I sold the company in 2006. My career in journalism began in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, where I was hired at age 16 as a stringer for Time. I also reported from Africa for London's Daily Express and News Chronicle and United Press. Moving to London in 1959, I worked as an executive for The Daily Mirror Group, a reporter for Associated Newspapers, and a news writer for BBC and ITN. After moving to the United States, I worked as an editor and reporter for The New York Herald Tribune, The Baltimore News-American, The Washington Daily News, and The Washington Post. A stint at McGraw-Hill's Nucleonics Week led to my founding The Energy Daily. But the first publication I founded was Women Now, a monthly magazine targeted to emerging professional women in the 1960s. I like to say, “It didn’t liberate any women, but it liberated all my money." Before creating “White House Chronicle,” I co-hosted with journalist Linda Gasparello “The Bull and The Bear,” a daily stock market program that aired on the GoodLife and Jones cable television networks in the mid-1990s.
