PIES de Occidente is a Guatemalan NGO that implements health-related programs in rural Mayan communities. Designed curricula and led workshops on reproductive health in rural Mayan communities. Carried out project-level monitoring and evaluation and prepared quarterly reports for donors.

The Family Nutrition Program is a $10.5 million USDA-funded grant program through which nutrition education is provided to low-income audiences in 40 counties across Florida. I conducted site visits to all program locations to monitor program performance and solicit feedback for program improvement. I also tracked data on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with the grant contract as well as progress toward performance goals.

* Managed programmatic and fiscal components of three USAID-funded research grants: * Integrating Gender and Nutrition within Agriculture Extension Systems (INGENAES) * Innovation for Agricultural Training and Education (InnovATE) * Feed the Future Livestock Systems Innovation Lab (LSIL) * 15% of time travelling to Latin America, Africa, and Asia * Conducted workshops and provided one-on-one assistance to faculty campus-wide to enhance their efforts to search and apply for funding for international research.

Led a training on how to conduct culturally responsive focus group discussions. Moderated focus group sessions in Spanish in order to help the program improve their strategies for reaching their target audiences.

Designed a monitoring and evaluation framework for a $5 million humanitarian program in Yemen, using indicators determined by the grant donor (the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance) and creating custom indicators to facilitate adaptive management during the life of the project.

Contracted through the University of Florida. (Nov 2015 - Jan 2016) Created a training-of-trainers manual for improving gender inclusiveness in climate change adaptation programming in sub-Saharan Africa. (May - June 2015) Conducted key informant interviews in rural Senegal to investigate ways of improving female farmers’ access to weather forecasts. Analyzed results using MaxQDA (qualitative data analysis software package). (Feb 2015) Conducted a gender-sensitive comparative program analysis by analyzing data from 101 questionnaires gathered from climate-smart agriculture project participants in Kenya and Senegal.

Recruited participants, fundraised, coordinated logistics, and managed budget for a week-long community service trip to the Tohono O'odham Native American Reservation in southern Arizona.

* World Pulse is a nonprofit organization that aims to empower women worldwide through the power of technology. (Nov * Dec 2015) Assisted with French language translation program, customer support, and spam management. (Sept * Oct 2015) Supported transfer of online user information to Raiser's Edge.

Conducted a meta-analysis of final evaluation reports in order to identify ways to improve monitoring, evaluation, and reporting practices. Assisted with updating internal "tip sheets" that provide guidance on implementing M&E practices at Mercy Corps.

May 2015 (baseline) & March 2016 (endline) - Used Stata to perform statistical analysis of 430 questionnaires and wrote baseline and endline reports for a water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) project implemented in southern Ethiopia.

Completed two months of intensive French-language training at the intermediate level and assisted secondary school English teachers. (Service was interrupted due to security threats in the country.)

Conducted a scoping study to identify promising experiences of gender mainstreaming in agricultural value chains. Presented results at a workshop in Limbe, Cameroon.

Supervised teachers in three rural middle schools as they implemented “Life Skills” curriculum. Created and managed a peer-led comprehensive sex education program for girls in nine rural communities. Led monthly workshops for teachers and parents. Secured $4,000 in funding from international and community-based sources to create two middle school computer labs. Carried out program monitoring and evaluation. Served on Project Advisory Committee.

Distributed weekly email newsletters to 250 subscribers using MailChimp; created bi-annual print newsletters using Microsoft Publisher. Designed posters, advertisements, and other graphics using Adobe Illustrator. Made regular blog and website updates using WordPress. Helped coordinate and promote events such as speakers and seminar series. Regularly interfaced with prospective students. Tracked and organized incoming and outgoing admissions materials.

Drew on behavioral health theory to design research instruments to determine underlying causes of high teen pregnancy rates in Tumbaco, Ecuador. Led a research team that conducted four sex-disaggregated focus group sessions and 340 in-depth written surveys with adolescents. Used Epi Info for survey instrument design and raw data entry; performed statistical analysis of survey results using Stata (statistical analysis software package). Developed a tailored sex education curriculum based on results. Presented final results at three conferences; won 2nd place in poster competition at the Global Health Conference at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. Designed a monitoring & evaluation framework to track key program indicators using research instruments.
