Liz McKee Anderson is a senior executive in the Pharmaceutical and biotech sector and serves as a non-Executive Director for GSK, as an Independent Board Director for the public biotechnology companies BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., Revolution Medicines Inc. and Insmed Inc. and the private company Aro Biotherapeutics and as a Member of the Executive Committee of The Wistar Institute. Liz served as a non-Executive Director of Bavarian Nordic A/S (Copenhagen) during 2018-2022 and Huntsworth Plc (London) during 2018-2019. Until her retirement from JNJ, she served as the WWVP and Commercial Leader in the IDV Global Commercial Strategy Organization, leading strategy, global commercialization and market access for Respiratory Infections, HIV, STI and Bacterial Pathogens and championed acquisition and business cases for 25+ assets. In a prior role as the WWVP Vaccines, Ms. Anderson partnered to develop and execute the first JNJ Global Vaccines Strategy and played a key role in the acquisition of Crucell NV. Previously, Ms. Anderson served as the WWVP, Immunology, Global Strategic Marketing where she was responsible for the therapeutic area strategy and commercial pipeline development of a large portfolio of small and large molecules. She and her team led the commercial development of SIMPONI, SIMPONI ARIA, and STELARA. Since launch in 2009, SIMPONI and STELARA have contributed significantly to the growth of Janssen with current sales of $10 Billion. She also served in WWVP roles for Biotechnology, Oncology and Anemia, with responsibility for LCM of VELCADE, PROCRIT and REMICADE and half of the total pipeline portfolio value of JNJ Pharmaceuticals. Liz also served for five years as the VP/GM of Wyeth Vaccines, leading a commercial team of 400+, building a $1B business with 8+ brands and leading global marketing and the US launch of PREVNAR, now a $6Bn franchise for Pfizer. Her strengths include P&L management, strategic thinking, deep global experience, close collaboration with R&D leadership and the development and application of marketing principles to drive asset and portfolio value. Liz has significant experience in General Management, growth acceleration strategies, global commercialization of pipeline assets from pre-clinical to post-launch, investment theses and in new asset acquisition.
