Program Director
Williston, North Dakota/ Salt Lake City, Utah
Managed 3 offices in 3 states, Customer Client Visits and Client Calls, troubleshooting issues, etc. I provided face-to-face contact with the Client; I had many Clients express to me how very important this was to them, to actually "see" someone from the transcription vendor they worked with. Upon taking the Program Director and Manager position in 1999 in Williston, ND, I created and implemented a Perpetual Quality Assurance Program for the transcriptionists, ensuring that every transcriptionist and in-house employee would receive a review or QA report on his/her work on a quarterly and subsequent yearly basis. Held monthly regular MT Conference calls with the in office staff and all the MTs; this was important for them to feel like they were a very important part of our team, and not just a production tool. In a joint effort between Williston State College/Work Force Training and MedQuist, I assisted in creating a Distant Learning Program that is still being offered today. I was recognized by the state of South Dakota for rural job creation. I spoke at the State Governor’s Conference in Pierre, SD regarding rural job creation, and how MedQuist could play a role in helping to employ individuals in a rural setting. There were approximately 200 transcriptionists trained and hired for various MedQuist offices in a 3-year time period. I participated with a National Advisory Board, which created, developed and implemented a nationally distributed instructional manual for the transcriptionists. I performed duties as an Integration and Retention Specialist, creating and maintaining effective communication between the transcriptionists, quality assurance department, workflow supervisor and the internal technical department, ensuring that the transcriptionist’s needs were being adequately met in this area.
