About
We all have that dream... One day we will be doing something we truly love. Something that will feed our soul, instead of being "just a job". Whilst I enjoyed my previous career, and as many will vouch, I was good at my job, I always maintained, I wasn't on the right path. I was a creative. A frustrated artist, living in suits and heels. So in 2012, I decided to make a change. To the surprise of many, I left my job and enrolled in college as a "mature student" to study photography. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have always loved taking photos and making images, but I wanted to know everything I could about my art. I wanted to know the theory and history. I wanted to study great photographers, explore every genre, know exactly how a camera sensor worked to capture an image, lose myself in a dark room, develop my own images from film to photo, be able to manipulate light, both natural and artificial. I have always had a curious mind. When I study something, I study intently. By day I was learning the photographic syllabus, by night I was teaching myself the art of digital editing. I spent many hours learning the ins and outs of Lightroom & Photoshop, enabling me to not only develop my images to their full potential, but to also create images that were uniquely "me". Switch back to today, I am now in business as Lisa Moffat Photography LLC. I am a commercial and corporate photographer, specialising in architecture, real estate and advertising photography. And now with the added nuance of AI, finding a way to incorporate that into my business in a way that makes sense and adds value . By day, that is... At night, photography is my art, a wonderful medium which allows my imagination to take me wherever I wish to go. For anyone that has ever wished or wanted to do something they truly love. Be bold and brave. Make that leap. Work hard. Study hard. Know your industry. It IS worth the effort. It WILL be the best decision you'll ever make.

Box Office Manager for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games (Multiple Venues)
Glasgow, United Kingdom
Whilst studying towards my BA degree in photography, I was approached by Activas regarding a temporary position over the summer managing box offices and ticket sales at various venues for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Being involved with the Commonwealth Games was obviously too good an opportunity to turn down! Whilst the position itself in terms of management was fairly basic, requiring the obvious organisational and customer service skills one would expect from such a massive ticketed event (high volume of sales staff and turnover, shift patterns and customers); it was by far one of the most exciting events I have ever been part of.
