As Head of Engineering at Sano Genetics, I lead the transformation of our engineering organisation; driving delivery excellence, operational clarity, and scalable technical strategy in a fully remote environment. I introduced agile processes, delivery metrics, and a full SDLC, increasing sprint completion rates from ~50% to over 90% and enabling predictable, high-quality releases across platform and application teams. I partner closely with Product and Design to define quarterly roadmaps, manage resource planning, and ensure strong alignment between technical execution, clinical operations, and business goals. As part of the senior leadership team, I contribute to company-wide strategy, OKRs, and funding readiness (Series B). Alongside operational improvements, I rebuilt engineering culture by implementing structured performance frameworks, training managers, and establishing remote-first collaboration rituals that have strengthened engagement, retention, and cross-functional communication. My focus is on enabling cohesive, secure, and scalable delivery while empowering teams to perform at their best.

Grow and develop the Design Technology/Design Engineering team to become an integral part of the product design process, through building software prototypes of TV and mobile customer experiences that reflect the future product vision, and directly influence product decisions. Drive future team development through strategic planning; establishing team vision and tenets, alongside yearly and long term goals. Balance resources against project prioritisation through roadmap planning, and manage stakeholder expectations to ensure efficient product delivery. Collaborate with design, product managers and engineering to ensure accurate product representation and deliverables, mitigating pain points in product delivery, as well as streamlining internal team processes, increasing overall productivity and efficiency. Nurture a collaborative and trusting team environment, focusing on individual career development, promoting exploration and self learning as well as ownership. Utilise technical knowledge to inform on technical direction and decision making, balancing short and long term requirements. Support team by completing coding and building tasks where necessary.

Creative software engineer demonstrating and evaluating UX concepts and future customer experience through rich software prototypes in TV and mobile products. Utilise knowledge of emerging technologies and industry standards to direct technical prototype direction and decision making. Collaborate with design, product and research teams to continuously adapt and deliver prototypes to visualise design ideation and validate design decisions. Working with multi-disciplinary teams from early concept generation (brainstorms and basic sketches) through to polished solutions (high fidelity interactive outputs that excite leaders to invest).

Responsible for product design across multiple projects. Continuously work with stakeholders to identify product requirements and advise on UX best practice. Design and advise on UX flows throughout products factoring in market research and user testing. Produce UI designs and graphics for development teams to reflect brand personality and target audience. Build prototypes in HTML and javascript frameworks for marketing landing pages before replicating in production.

Responsible for the front end development of signature product. Worked in AngularJS, D3 and Angular 4 in an Agile Scrum team. Supported designer in new product design concepts, creating HTML/Angular prototypes for testing.

Contributed to client facing and large internal digital platform development projects. Part of both Agile Scrum and waterfall teams working in conjunction with designers, backend developers and DevOps colleagues. Responsible for end to end product development, working solely with stakeholders to define requirements, design, develop and deploy internal websites.
