Responsible for strategic development, investor relations, marketing, financial and competitive analyses, and all other business functions except technical development. Responsible for obtaining funding for new business, developing relationships with partners and customers, and developing technology with goal of licensing the technology or spinning off the business.

The MTTC is a state government organization with a mandate to work with any inventor in any nonprofit research institution in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to help commercialize the new technology as a license to an established or startup company. We typically work with the institution's Technology Transfer Office and the inventor to frame the technology in a business context and then provide forums through which the inventor can network productively with investors, experienced entrepreneurs, intellectual property attorneys, and other industry leaders. We also provide small grants to researchers to help move technologies from the lab bench to a prototype or other result that can attract new investment.
