My role involved sample preparation of STIs and other diseases for quantitative and qualitative analysis. I trained and mentored other technicians for the laboratory responsibilities. I also helped develop the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory by writing and editing SOPs, and validating and running quality controls on the OC-Auto FIT DIANA analyzer.

I assisted Dr. David Maddison and the graduate students with conducting research on evolutionary biology including phylogenetic and DNA sequences of carabid beetles. I performed polymerase chain reactions (PCRs) for various types of genes. This position involved regular practiced with base calling of chromatogram data to help finalize DNA sequences and working with beetle mounting and microscopy.

At JavaStop, I provided excellent and attentive customer service. I prepared and served food and drinks in accordance with health codes and café standards, in addition to assisting customers on menu items, ingredients, location of retail items, and costs. This role required practicing exceptional sanitation standards at all times for the maintenance of a clean and safe environment and restocking supplies and performing daily cleaning tasks.
