Liang Cheng

Faculty Profile: https://vivo.brown.edu/display/lcheng26 Dr. Liang Cheng is Professor of Pathology and Surgery/Urology, Vice Chair for Translational Research, Director of Anatomic Pathology, and Director of Molecular Pathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School | Brown University Health, Providence, RI. He also serves as Associate Director at the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Cheng has authored over 1,200 peer-reviewed SCI articles published in high-impact journals. His work has been cited more than 78,000 times (h-index: 138, ISI Web of Science), and he ranks among the top three most cited researchers in the category of “Urologic Oncology” and “Urology” on Google Scholar. Notably, he holds a world-record i10 index of 1010, with over one thousand publications each cited at least ten times. Dr. Cheng also contributed to more than 150 book chapters and authored 22 textbooks. He has served as principal or co-investigator on more than 40 grants funded by the NIH, NCI, ACS, and DOD. His scientific and academic achievements have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Arthur Purdy Stout Annual Award from the Society of Surgical Pathologists for outstanding contributions to surgical pathology, the Koss Medal, the highest award bestowed by the International Society of Urological Pathology for lifetime achievement, the Stowell-Orbison Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), and the W. Dwayne Lawrence Award for Excellence in Diagnostic Surgical Pathology. Dr. Cheng currently serves as President of the International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP).
