Liam Knoll

My name is Liam Knoll and I'm 24 years old. I currently live in Uppsala, Sweden. My interest in drones was sparked a few years ago through a friend who inspired me. While I was on vacation in Iceland I bought my first own drone and my fascination with it never stopped. I love to try new ways of filming and flying while being in Sweden's nature and forests. But there is nothing better than filming the rising sun on an early Summer morning. So I have now flown mostly DJI drones for about 7 years and for the last year I got the opportunity to work with different types of drones and open source platforms. After studying to be a commercial drone operator, I am now complementing that with a specifying course to further my knowledge and also to be able to fly bigger drones. The specifying course examination will take place in Summer 2023. We learned how to work as a team and with work true checklists together, how to react in an emergency through our simulator training as well as learning how to fly in BVLOS/Night. Last week I finished the writing exam for the BVLOS/Night module. Followed by next week's teoretic exam in the simulator. While working in a team as well as finishing tasks on my own I am always motivated to do my best. Problems and difficult situations inspire me to think out of the box and use my technical knowledge to find a solution as fast as possible. In my spare time I love to be active which can be everything from going on a walk, cycling, going for a run or discovering new spots in my region and of course going skiing in Winter. Other than that I love traveling, especially trying new food and learning more about my destination.
