Two years working with Janet Scott & Son, a Bristol-based family-run design-and-build practice delivering bespoke new build residential projects. Operated alongside the lead architect and her son, who directed site operations, gaining hands-on experience across virtually every trade involved in new build construction. Key experience: Worked across a broad range of trades, including groundworks, concrete and blockwork, carpentry, roofing, plastering, tiling, first and second fix, and finishing works Supported the full build sequence on bespoke, architect-led new build homes — from foundations through to handover Learned directly from the architect and site lead, developing an integrated understanding of design intent, buildability, and on-site execution Worked within a small, tight-knit team where every member contributed across disciplines, building a rounded, practical grasp of how bespoke residential projects come together Built a trade-level understanding of residential construction that now underpins how I lead projects, manage subcontractors, and assess quality as a main contractor
