About

I design funding mechanisms for nature-based climate solutions — the systems that move money from willing payers to credible implementers at the right time, scale, and terms. After 20+ years working across climate and nature finance — jurisdictional REDD+, debt-for-nature swaps, conservation trust funds, payments for ecosystem services, carbon finance, sustainable commodity platforms — I founded Co-Investing in Nature to address what I see as the binding constraint: not technical capacity or financing structures, but the funding layer itself.I work with corporates developing Beyond Value Chain Mitigation strategies, foundations and bilateral donors seeking scalable mechanisms, and landscape initiatives that need to become legible and fundable to multiple co-investors.Previously Senior Advisor for Natural Climate Solutions at USAID, where I helped deploy catalytic capital for forest conservation across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Before that, 14 years at The Nature Conservancy, where I helped design the initial concept for the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, mobilized $30M+ for jurisdictional programs in Indonesia, and co-developed a $28.5M debt-for-nature swap.Dual master's degrees from Yale School of Management and Yale School of the Environment. Switzer Environmental Fellow.

Co-Investing in Nature is a specialized advisory practice focused on getting catalytic funding to large-scale nature-based climate solutions. I work with corporates, donors, landscape initiatives, and intermediaries to design the funding approaches that allow multiple actors to co-invest in shared outcomes at landscape scale. Advisory services include Beyond Value Chain Mitigation strategy for corporates, co-investment agreement design, jurisdictional finance architecture, initiative readiness and funder translation, and claims frameworks for transparent contribution reporting. The COIN Initiative, a grant-funded field-building effort under fiscal sponsorship of One Earth Philanthropy's Nature Data Lab, develops open-source frameworks, templates, and shared infrastructure for contribution-based climate finance — published as public goods.

Research Fellow with Nature Data Lab, a project of One Earth Philanthropy advancing science-based tools and data infrastructure to accelerate climate and nature finance. My work focuses on contribution-based funding mechanisms for nature conservation — designing alternatives to carbon offset markets that can channel corporate, philanthropic, and bilateral capital to credible landscape-level implementers.
