During my internship with Hanover Project I gained an exciting, invaluable, first hand experience working behind the scenes of a contemporary gallery space. My main responsibilities included: • Marketing Materials: copywriting, sourcing images and creating gallery guides and promotional material for upcoming events and exhibitions. • Emails: updating mailing lists. Building and sending emails to the public, students, regional institutes and press. Creating and sending press packs prior to events. • Finance and budgeting: after funds had been collated I had to split the costs between marketing materials and preview night expenses. Keeping and logging receipts. • Databases: updating mailing lists. • Documentation: photographing and filming events to be archived and posted to social media platforms. • Social Media: administrating and posting prior, during and post events to increase online visibility and visitation. I have worked closely with Hanover Project on numerous occasions with the curation and installation of many exhibitions. Working with the gallery coordinator, curators, artists and students. As a gallery technician I have assisted with: • Gallery Preparation: painting, sanding and general preparation of the gallery space. • Installation: measuring and installation of works with accuracy, in preparation to numerous exhibitions. • Curation: assisting Gallery Coordinator, Victoria Lucas, with curatorial decisions for multiple exhibitions. • Quality Control: assisting Artist, Flis Holland, during her self-titled solo exhibition to prepare and sand numerous steel platforms.
