Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital Inpatient Service consists of 6 acute care/inpatient units (Children’s unit, Adolescent unit, Transitional Aged Youth unit, Mood Disorders unit, General Adult and Geriatrics and Older Adult unit) ranging from 16 beds to 26 beds. Inpatient units treat patients with the most disabling psychiatric disorders including but not limited to depression bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, dementia, PTSD, DMDD, and ODD.
