Space Systems Engineer (Electro-Optical Sensors) | Leonardo Space
Florence, Tuscany, Italy
Responsible for the coordination of spaceborne systems for In-Orbit Servicing (IOS) and Space Situational Awareness (SSA), focusing on the development of efficient computer vision algorithms for pose estimation, tracking, and autonomous decision-making in orbit.

Localization Engineer - Thesis
Milan, Lombardy, Italy
During my thesis, I developed an innovative Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) to enhance localization for autonomous vehicles. This EKF fused asynchronous measurements from various pose estimation algorithms, ensuring robust and precise vehicle localization. I validated my algorithm in collaboration with the AIDA research group at the Politecnico di Milano through two key challenges. The Mille Miglia 2024 with a Maserati GranCabrio Folgore and the Trofeo della Vallecamonica 2024 with a Maserati MC20 Cielo. My roles in the project included: - Develop a 3D kinematic model of the car. - Develop an EKF in ROS2 using C++ over a Docker container using Visual Studio Code and Python scripts. - Validate the algorithms on real-world events, analysing data with custom MATLAB scripts. - Prepare weekly Latex reports and PowerPoint presentations to present the updates to the team.

CubeSat Mission Software Engineer
Milan, Lombardy, Italy
During my studies at Politecnico di Milano, I joined Polispace, a student association developing a nanosatellite (1U CubeSat) as part of the "Cubesat 6S" project. Our work earned recognition from the European Space Agency (ESA), granting us access to the "Fly Your Satellite!" program. My role focused on selecting and testing the On-Board Computer (OBC), ensuring compliance with team requirements, and working on Linux to develop custom applications using NASA's Core Flight System (CFS) software. Additionally, I led the development of "Lynk," a mobile app providing satellite data, and presented a paper on it at the 2022 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris. My roles in the project included: - Lead the selection and testing of the On-Board Computer (OBC) for the nanosatellite, ensuring compliance with team requirements. - Work on custom applications for the mission using NASA's Core Flight System (CFS) Linux-based software. - Lead the creation of "Lynk," a mobile app providing detailed satellite data, and presented a paper at the 2022 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris. - Prepare weekly Latex reports and PowerPoint presentations to present the updates to the team.
