Leonard Baum

Responsible for the central management and further development of the whisky and spirits division—from portfolio and product strategy to sales and brand image to the international presentation of the company. My focus is on combining quality, authenticity, and entrepreneurial vision to strengthen the brand, product, and market performance in the long term.

Having worked in the industry for over 15 years, here are a few interesting things about my job. As a trained winemaker, I spent three years at a renowned winery, where I got to know all facets of the wine industry. From working in the vineyard and cellar technology to marketing, tastings and trade fair organization, I was able to gain valuable insights into the entire production and distribution chain. I then worked in retail sales for around eight years, specializing in high-quality wines, whiskies and spirits. During this time, I not only deepened my specialist knowledge, but also gained extensive experience in building and maintaining customer relationships. My expertise was further enhanced by my work as a retail area manager and sommelier in a former Michelin-starred restaurant. For over a decade, I successfully managed a specialist wine, spirits and delicatessen store with two locations in the Bergisches Land region. At the same time, I founded the company GourmetPool GmbH together with two business partners. This project represents our passion for creating exceptional moments of pleasure and promoting culinary diversity. Today, my focus is on the production and marketing of high-end whiskies and spirits as an independent bottler. With great attention to detail, we develop original bottlings that meet the highest standards and delight connoisseurs and gourmets alike. My journey through the world
