- Responsible for the ongoing strategic planning regarding Centre’s long and short term financial positions, maintaining its relationship other organizations and individuals operating within the social justice community, its media presence and the legal, administrative and staffing issues for this small but extremely busy not-for-profit organization. - Composition and presentation of activity reports, grant applications and financial reports to the BCPIAC Board and to the Law Foundation. - Working with the Law Foundation’s Social Justice Program Director to ensure the Centre continued to provide access to justice and systemic remedies to large sections of BC's low and fixed income residents. - Maintaining a full case load while providing staff lawyers with direction and guidance in legal matters as well as monitoring workload issues and casework to ensure PIAC remains within its approved mandate. - Independent and co-conduct of various regulatory, social justice, and anti-oppression cases in the Courts and with various administrative tribunals, often in conjunction with BCPIAC’s expert consultants. My regulatory expertise includes BC Hydro, FortisBC Gas, FortisBC Electricity, and ICBC matters. - Drafting written submissions and provided ongoing legal, evidentiary and tactical analyses. Participation in complex negotiations involving multiple parties with competing issues and agendas; and cross-examination and submissions in oral hearings. - Providing summary legal advice and referrals to individuals, advocates and organizations throughout the province regarding social justice, anti-oppression and utility matters. - Regularly participating in various consultative processes with utilities and the BC government.

- Conduct of numerous Regulatory files before the British Columbia Utilities Commission including BC Hydro, ICBC, FortisBC Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc. applications. - Independent and co-conduct of a wide variety of administrative law matters with a particular focus on arbitrations and hearings before the BC Labour Board. - Analysis of regulatory filings, evidence and legal documents; legal research; drafting numerous legal opinions and submissions; interviewing plaintiffs, grievors, union representatives, and witnesses; providing legal advice to clients regarding a variety of issues including employment law, human rights, privacy, regulatory, social justice and labour, both in the context of ongoing cases and stand-alone inquiries. - Formulation of hybrid political and legal strategies to maximize the efficacy of clients’ efforts to achieve larger goals. - Regular and effective participation in consultations with government, the BC Utilities Commission, energy utilities, and ICBC. - Development and presentation of courses about a variety of legal issues - Co-management of firm operations as well as oversight of legal and support staff.

- Until the Union closed its Advocacy Department in May of 2014 acted as an in-house resource for Staff Representatives and Union leadership for legal and political advice, advocacy mentorship, and assistance in determining the merits of various cases. - Conducted labour arbitrations as well as matters before the Labour Relations Board and Utility Regulation cases before the British Columbia Utilities Commission. - Participated in various consultations with energy utilities and ICBC on COPE’s behalf - Developed and presented numerous courses to Union staff regarding labour, advocacy, and legal issues.

- In mid-2011, as staff lawyer, successfully priced, planned and facilitated an office-wide computer system upgrade and IT support service transition. - Independent and co-conduct of various regulatory, social justice, and anti-oppression cases in the Courts and with various administrative tribunals, often in conjunction with BCPIAC’s expert consultants.
