During a placement role at Quintessence Fragrances Ltd, vital professional skills were gained and expanded. Through working with the sales team and being part of successful client pitches, negotiation and client communication skills were gained, as well as team-working skills. Working with the marketing team has allowed expanded skill growth in digital marketing, social media marketing as well as experienced knowledge of fragrance marketing. Creating and developing presentations for clients and sales team members has increased the skills for research previously learnt through undergraduate studies, as well as working effectively under pressure due to high quality presentations often being needed at short notice.

Working for a busy event marketing team involved creating events, guest lists and promotion of the company. Social media marketing was a large part of this role, it had to be used effectively and often quickly to create a buzz about the latest events. Short notice was regular and working under pressure was a big part of the role.
