Manage a team of five employees responsible for all Information Security governance & compliance efforts for Itron. Oversee the management of twelve semi-integrated ISO 27001 information security management systems, multiple SSAE-18 engagements, SOX/IT General Controls and customer-specific audit actions. Responsible for creating and delivering an Information Security Awareness training program for over 5,000 employees. Responsible for delivering and managing Itron’s company-wide Information Security policy program, providing standards and practices for multiple business units within Itron.

Responsible for establishing and managing Forcepoint’s IT Governance/Risk Management/Compliance programs with the purpose of ensuring the company meets and exceeds established national and international information and cyber security standards. Responsible for researching and authoring all company-wide information security policies and processes. Establish an internal cyber security framework (NIST-based) and measure effectiveness of controls within the framework and assess risk identified as part of overall commitment to security. Establish 3rd party vendor security assessment process to include cloud-provided services and supply chain. Manage Forcepoint Cloud Services Information Security Management System and maintain all current certifications to include ISO 27001/27018, and CSA STAR. Oversee all internal and external audits that impact current certifications. Responsible for planning and implementing information security controls on future expansion of cloud services into the public cloud. Lead planning and implementation of multiple projects to include data classification, encryption (to support GDPR and DFARS initiatives) and GRC tools, improving the effectiveness of Forcepoint’s cyber security posture.

Information Technology Director responsible for providing rapid technical and security engineering support to the United States Army Regional Network Enterprise Centers (RNECs) and Network Enterprise Centers (NECs) with the purpose of enhancing Information Technology support. Serve as the director of a consolidated and diverse technical resource pool of personnel, capable of solving issues involving tactical systems, network/system applications, network operations and information assurance/security for subordinate network providers. Prioritize missions and manage resources to optimize IT support across the network; prioritize, resource and manage personnel involved in Cyber security inspections. Manage a team of 23 personnel to include servicemembers, civilians and contractors. Certified as Information Assurance Security Officer for the division. Accomplishments: • Oversaw the restructuring of four divisions into one and standardized a technical resource pool to quickly solve issues involving network/system applications, network operations and security. The restructuring and overall refined management process resulted in a 25% decrease in network degradation and 15% increase in service efficiency. • Resourced and managed Cyber security inspection teams to ensure Department of Defense (DoD) cyber security and readiness standards are met and help remediate security findings, resulting in seven organizations passing DoD-level inspections. • Planned and executed over 100+ Site Assistance Visits by the division to subordinate network-providing organizations, resulting in a 10% decrease in service interruptions and 10% increase in the security posture of their networks.

Serve as the Enterprise Systems Division Director (Senior Technology Director) for the United States Army Pacific regional network, providing over 30,000 users automation support to include local area networking, information security, configuration management, help desk support, collaboration tools, electronic mail, web services and systems integration. Plan, administer, manage, maintain, operate, integrate and secure data distribution systems. Work with subordinate network providers on resolution of network, system and services issues. Oversee the Incident Management process within the United States Army Pacific region. Manage a team of 13 personnel to include servicemembers, civilians and contractors. Assigned as Information Assurance Security Officer for the division. Accomplishments: • Project Lead for the Mailbox provisioning and migration of over 40,000 users in the U.S. Army Pacific region to the Defense Enterprise Email system on both the Army’s classified and unclassified networks. The project resulted in a savings of $500k and 20% efficiency increase of email services. • Project Lead for the Storage Area Network Tech Refresh for the U.S. Army Pacific region, a project value of over $5 million. Effort included planning/managing the installation of new hardware and software, migration of user data from legacy servers to new storage array and decommissioning of all legacy equipment, resulting in a savings of $50k annually and an increase of 20% in storage efficiency. • Author of Incident Management Policy for the U.S. Army Pacific region. Managed the Incident Management Process for an entire region resulting in a 15% decrease in response time during that period. • Led Enterprise Systems Division to successfully pass all Information Assurance/Cyber Security inspections during a three-year period.

Responsible for operating and maintaining voice, data and video communications for the 13th Sustainment Command and three subordinate organizations in both an office environment and while deployed. Responsible for all data network support to include local area networking, information assurance/security, configuration management, help desk support, collaboration, Electronic Mail, web services, database management, automations purchases and systems integration. Provided technical assistance to user-owned and operated information and communication systems. Advises the commanding general on technical solutions for communications integration and growth. Manage a team of 14 personnel to include service members, civilians and contractors. Assigned responsibilities as Information Assurance Manager for the command. Accomplishments: • Project Lead for the implementation of the organization’s Collaboration System (Adobe Connect), allowing the commanding general to rapidly communicate and collaborate with his nine subordinate commanders geographically dispersed over the entire Iraqi theater of operations. • Develop and implement organization-wide Information Assurance program encompassing three separate networks and reducing the number of cyber security violations by 60% during a year-long deployment. • Developed, managed and mentored a 13-person 24/7 Help Desk during two deployments to Iraq. The Help Desk was responsible for all hardware, software and communication devices within the headquarters (approx. 1,500 devices) and responsible for closing out over 7,000 issues during each year-long deployment. • Managed the forecasting and execution of the command's IT budget (excess of $1M) to include hardware lifecycle, upgrades to existing infrastructure and new purchases to enhance communications and collaboration throughout the organization.

Senior Advisor to the Louisiana National Guard, responsible for assisting and mentoring their commanders and staffs at all levels in developing training programs and resource packages; providing expertise in Army doctrine, tactical employment and technical areas of multi-unit operations and leadership; assisting with administrative, logistics and maintenance training; provide guidance and advice to each level of leadership and provide feedback to the National Guard leadership in order to facilitate proficiency in unit training and preparation for mobilization for war. Accomplishments: • Planned, resourced and executed training program for Close Quarters Combat, a task required for all mobilizing units. Setup three dry-fire sites for units to learn/practice how to clear rooms to Army standards. Resourced and ran a live-fire range that allowed units to practice techniques learned with real targets and live ammunition, the first of its kind for the Army outside of Special Operations Command. Trained over 5,000 soldiers in a three-month period. Lauded and recognized by the multiple general officers for the innovative training. • Assisted in the mobilization, training and certification of three National Guard units (3,000+ soldiers per unit) selected for mobilization in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ensured that soldiers were trained and proficient in all individual and unit tasks during an intensive 12-week training period prior to deployment to the National Training Center and future deployment to Iraqi Theater of Operations.

Armored Systems Evaluation Officer responsible for the independent evaluation of the operational effectiveness, suitability and survivability of Army Acquisition Systems. Responsible for providing System Evaluation Reports and other supporting evaluation products to the Secretary of the Army's staff to support acquisition decisions. As the system evaluator, led the Army Test and Evaluation Command Systems Team consisting of military and civilian technical and operational analysts, specialty engineers, scientists and operational testers to plan, execute and analyze results of technical, developmental, operational and continuous testing on a variety of assigned Armor related systems. Briefed both Army and Department of Defense senior executives on a monthly basis as to status of assigned projects. Accomplishments: • Planned, evaluated and provided reports to the Secretary of the Army on the M1A2 System Enhancement Program (SEP), a program that digitized the Army’s Main Battle Tank. The evaluation proved to be highly successful, completed on time and on budget and aided the Army’s decision to upgrade all Active Component tanks to the SEP standard. • Selected as the lead evaluator for the Mobile Gun System, part of the Stryker Program that the Army launched for a new, deployable system. Under a very constrained timeline, planned and resourced a Limited User Test and developmental tests for both the platform and the main gun system. The evaluations from these tests allowed the Army to fund further testing and allow the Army leadership to make decisions on the future of the program. • Selected as the lead evaluator of the Close Combat Tactical Trainer, an integrated virtual reality training system that allows combat units to train collectively. Planned and led the ATEC Evaluation Team through both a developmental and operational test that successfully brought the program through the last phases of the acquisition cycle to Full Materiel Release both on budget and on time.

Commander of an M1A2 Main Battle Tank unit with a rapid deployment contingency mission. Responsible for the health, welfare, training and discipline of 4 officers and 58 enlisted soldiers. Responsible for the maintenance and accountability of 14 M1A2 main battle tanks, one M113A2 personnel carrier and other MTOE equipment valued at over $62 million. Responsible for executing the combat mission of the company to close with and destroy enemy forces using fire, maneuver and shock effect, or to repel the enemy by fire, counter attack and close combat. Responsible for an annual budget of over $3M.
