About
I'm a freelance academic and nonfiction editor who helps writers transform promising drafts into published work. For over twenty years, I’ve helped people discover how best to communicate their ideas and tell their stories. My path as an editor and coach began in the university setting—first as an undergraduate writing tutor, then as a graduate teaching assistant for writing and literature courses, academic journal editor, and later as a faculty member. Those years confirmed what I love most: working one-on-one with writers to bring clarity, energy, and confidence to their work. Since then, I’ve partnered with a wide range of writers: faculty, graduate students, veterans, business owners, thought leaders, creative writers, and retirees. Together we've tackled projects of every size and shape: nonfiction book manuscripts, book proposals, query letters, journal articles, book reviews, dissertations, war and grief memoirs, family histories, short stories, and novels. I'm also a published writer with a doctoral degree in English and a specialization in nineteenth-century British literature. That background not only grounds me in research and analysis but also deepens my creative understanding of the writing process—insight I bring to every project I edit.
